Plot summary: Unstoppable, a 20th Century Fox drama about a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals. Pits an engineer and his conductor in a race against time. They’re chasing the runaway train in a separate locomotive and need to bring it under control before it derails on a curve and causes a toxic [...]
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I’m rewatching the 2 seasons of October Road. The simplistic yet plausible plot, life and happenings in a small town, and of course Odette, makes watching it a second time a must for me.
Plot summary: When his idyllic life is threatened by a high-tech assassin, former black-ops agent Frank Moses reassembles his old team in a last ditch effort to survive. Source Red was an action movie, with a bit of humor tossed inside. In all honesty, it was good, but I really like either-or, not so much [...]
Plot summary: On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere [...]
One of the best parts of fall is all of the normal shows coming back on with new episodes, and even some new premiers.
Much like last year, these are the current ones not to miss:
These may be added to the not to miss list, assuming they survive:
Looks like I’ll have to watch at least one of them online since they share the same airing time. Which works out great, as I’m now revisiting the two seasons of October Road that came on a couple of years ago. Which was another great show that was killed off prematurely!
Plot summary: Barney Ross leads the “Expendables”, a band of highly skilled mercenaries including knife enthusiast Lee Christmas, martial arts expert Yin Yang, heavy weapons specialist Hale Caesar, demolitionist Toll Road and loose-cannon sniper Gunner Jensen. When the group is commissioned by the mysterious Mr. Church to assassinate the merciless dictator of a small South [...]
Big Brother 12! This season is shaping up to be another good one as usual. Last night’s episode was especially good, not to mention hilarious when Brittney was trying to teach Enzo how to talk. It’s amazing how one second someone may feel completely safe, and the next feel completely like their on the chopping block. I’m rooting for Brittney or Matt to win the entire thing, and I’d love to see Rachel and Brenden voted out back to back next, but as usual it’s hard to say how things will play out.
On the way through Chicago, we saw this Aston Martin from Bullrun. I’ve not seen the latest season, so I’m not sure if maybe it’s a future season’s car, or current, or even past. But it was very awesome to see in person and shoot while riding down the interstate.
The only thing I hate about getting caught up in a show is it’s finales. Whether it’s a season finale with a hiatus between the seasons, or an entire series finale, they are inevitable and no fun.
Survivor’s finale was last night, and while they called it their best season yet, I don’t think I can necessarily agree. But it is hard to choose a best season when the dynamics change so much between the players, their strategies, the elements, and the players personalities. I hated to see that the final 3 were all quite possibly millionaires, given that Russel was without a doubt one, and Parvati and both Sandra already having won the game of Survivor previously. Of course though, that was already a gripe of mine when the season started, and one of the negatives that come with letting people play the game multiple times. Regardless, it was a great season, and I’m glad to see that there will be a 21st season in the fall.
Chance is always powerful, let your hook always be cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish.
