US National Debt

by Shane Holden on October 9, 2008

So today it was announced that the debt clock has officially ran out of digits to track our national debt.  I’ve seen the debt figure before online, but I was astounded to see that each family’s share is currently ~$86k.

The Durst Organization says it plans to update the sign next year by adding two digits. That will make it capable of tracking debt up to a quadrillion dollars.

Now that is surely some positive thinking, setting the clock up for showing a potential a quadrillion dollars worth of debt?!

Good Thing For Deadlines

by Shane Holden on April 12, 2008

Because if there weren’t any, there are some things that would never get done.  Taxes for sure.  Ugh, the thought of needing to do them.  Time is ticking and I need to get on the ball.  I always dread doing them because of all the sorting papers, finding papers, etc.  Hopefully I’ll have the motivation in the morning to get everything together and run them by Jackson-Hewitt.  Every year this sort of thing happens.  I always end up not getting them done until almost the last moment possible.  I think I hate them that much :???:

Our County’s SPLOST Tax

So I’m going out there. And I’m going to do the best I can. People are going to get in my way. Things are going to bring me down. But I’m going to keep going. I’m going to reach as far as I can, for every thing I’ve ever wanted. And I’m not giving up. Because that’s what you do when your dreams are more important than your fears. You go out there and ignore the odds. You focus on one thing—that your dreams come true. — K. Boulden
