KC, aka Zee, is the newest addition to the Holden family. We found him about 10 days ago underneath the hood of the car, and he’s still here, so he’s definitely staying. He is soo friendly and just loves attention! I wish he’d stay small, but by the looks of his paws, he’s going to be a huge cat. I love the little guy!
If it could, we’d never lose any one or any thing. We’d never have to deal with losses, or worry if one may be near by. I really wish it were that simple.
Last night we lost one of the best pets we will ever be blessed with having, Penny. A childhood friend, man’s best friend, warm little bed buddy, road trip companion, you name it, she was it for 15 years. 15 years.
It was apparent yesterday that she would most likely not make it through the night. So knowing it was one of her greatest joys in her little life, we made sure to let her go “bye-bye” one last time yesterday evening.
It’s impossible to measure love, but even if it were, I think it’d be impossible to imagine the amount of love that little dog has received from our family throughout her life.
A few photos from this set
My cat must find a sense of security and safety by hiding out in baskets or boxes around the house. This is a picture of her that I found on my camera that I took a couple of months ago. She will usually find a box and make it her hangout for a while, so if we get to looking for her, as long as the box hasn’t been moved or thrown away, it’s almost a give-me that she will be in there asleep.
My cat doesn’t seem to mind music blaring from the speakers, a bright screen, or the keyboard clicking as I type, in the place that she has most recently made her new hangout. There’s a cubbyhole type area next to the screen that is supposed to be like storage for CDs or something that she usually will sleep in. But lately she has got to where she likes to stand in front of the screen, and eventually getting sleepy and looking like she does in the pic. Ignore the dust please.
Little Spanky is now a totally different looking dog. We decided to take and get him groomed because he had gotten so many mats in his hair from biting his itches. The lady that did his grooming said he was a sweetheart and was so easy to work with. When we went to pick him up, I didn’t even recognize the little guy, but he seems to be very much enjoying it and being able to see without his hair in front of his eyes. Such a difference from that little ball of curly fur that he once was! I’m not sure if we are going to just keep him trimmed short from now on, or try to keep it up with regular brushing and baths.
Mid last week sometime my dad sent me a video txt message of a little dog he found at his work. He stepped off of a piece of equipment and this little guy was sitting there watching him. It was pretty cold outside so he took him in the office where it was nice and warm. His work is on US Hwy 41, where hundreds of cars pass daily, so a stray animal doesn’t really have much of a chance. No one came by all day, or since then for that matter, and he didn’t have a collar or any tags on him, so the delimma was to let him stay in the office, or to bring him home. Apparently this little guy touched a soft spot and made it to our house
My brother and SIL came up today and told us that they wanted to get some kind of little pet for their apartment. It was either a hamster, gerbil, or guinea pig. I had no idea that Dalton even had a pet store now. The only pet store that I knew we had was H2O Pets, and they’ve been closed for years now. But we have a Petland here in town now Continue Reading..
Since it’s been right at a year since she came here, I thought I’d share some about our unique pet that’s been hanging around.
Last March sometime, me, my dad, and my brother were on our way down to Miami to pick up my brother’s bike that he had bought. At some point on the trip, my mom called and she was like, “You’ll never guess what is in the backyard!” My response was “a Unicorn”

Well it ended up being this wild turkey that had somehow gotten in the backyard, and from where it came we have no idea. She’s been living in our backyard every since. When it gets close to sunset, she’ll fly up in one of the trees and crash there for the night.
The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you’re not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don’t take it personally when they say “no” — they may not be smart enough to say “yes.”
