Haiku is an unrhymed, syllabic form adapted from the Japanese: three lines of 5, 7 and 5 syllables. Because it is so brief, a haiku is necessarily imagistic, concrete and pithy, capturing a single moment in a very few words.

when my arms are wrapped
in a tight embrace with you
I feel my greatest
this life is simple
without you there is no me
and no way to be
the warmth of your breath
with your arms wrapped around me
warms me to my core
do I cross your mind
the way you seem to cross mine
countless times each day?
there is not a thing
in this world that I want more
than you to be here
she’s more beautiful
with each and every new glance
that I get of her
just you being near
gives me butterflies inside
like a swarm in spring
just watching your lips
dance to the words ‘I love you’
captivates my heart
The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you’re not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don’t take it personally when they say “no” — they may not be smart enough to say “yes.”
