GoldenEye Remake

by Shane Holden on June 16, 2010

Today I saw a status update from a friend on Facebook about the infamous GoldenEye 007 from the Nintendo 64 being remade exclusively for the Wii.  After looking it up and seeing a clip, sure enough, the greatest first person shooter game of all time is being remade.  This brings back a bit of nostalgia for me, as when this game was originally released I was 12, and my friends and I played this game for literally hundreds of hours and still to this day proclaim it as one of the greatest games of all time.  I remember it was one of the biggest accomplishments of Chase’s as far as gaming went, because he beat the game 100%, even through the hardest mode available, 007 Agent.

Super Mario Bros. Wii

by Shane Holden on January 3, 2010

Yesterday my brother picked it up at Best Buy while we were up in Chattanooga, and he forgot it here when he went home yesterday.  Needless to say, today was mostly spent playing it.  I’ve been wanting to try it out since seeing that it was released and watching some video reviews of it.  I think it’s where Nintendo needed to go back to again, at least once more, for the Mario Bros.  I love how it uses the old sound effects and is a side-scroller, but includes some graphics from today as well as some new items and powerups.  I’m hoping he leaves it here until we can beat it 100% with all star coins collected.

Wii Fit is Awesome

by Shane Holden on February 2, 2009

Wii Fit

Wii Fit has been out for a while now, but over the weekend I had my first chance to play it.  From what I had seen of it before, it’s like they took Wii Sports and stepped it up.  You start off by taking your Mii, which by the way now has arms attaching the hands to the body, and do some tests that calculate your balance, BMI, and weight.  The whole game is based off of balance, posture, and goals centered around your BMI and improving all of those.

You never really realize how off your balance may be until you are standing on a platform and can see your center of balance move constantly.

Guitar Hero Games

by Shane Holden on January 5, 2008

Guitar HeroOver Christmas, my oldest brother brought by Guitar Hero 1 & 2 for the PS2.  I absolutely love this game.  At first I thought there was no way that I would get the hang of it, as its a huge hand-eye coordination challege that other games don’t really have.  Since he is on the road alot and doesn’t have too much time to play it, he left it here for me and Chase to jam out on.  I can definately say that we’ve both got the hang of it and are doing great.

Gimme Friction Baby!

by Shane Holden on December 5, 2007

That’s actually a name to this game I’m showing you.  It’s completely work safe so don’t let the name keep you from playing at work.  The only thing a bit scary is the entrance sound.

Anyways, check it out!  Gimme Friction Baby

Text Based Games

by Shane Holden on November 5, 2007

At the end of last week, one of my online buddies let me know about this text based truck driving simulation game.  It’s called Trukz and is actually pretty fun.  You select routes and try to haul what is needed into that city to get even more pay.  And the thing that makes this game more realistic, is that you cannot sit in front of the computer
