Since Friday, the DIC on the car has shown the following error. Friday evening we went to leave to ride around for a few, when this error popped up. We thought it might have just been a glitch and just hit reset on the dash to clear the error. As we were backing out of the driveway, steering wheel locked, and the fuel cut off after hitting 2mph in reverse. Luckily, the following day we didn’t experience the error. Which really leaves you scratching your head wondering what caused it. But then again after a brief (1-day) stint with everything working fine, the error is back.
Upgraded (or downgraded, depending on which you prefer) the wheels on the Z06 today from chromed stock GM rims, to a set of 01 forged ALCOA rims. The weight of the two set of rims are very comparable, due to them both being aluminum rims, with the ALCOA’s being slightly heavier than the cast wheels, yet the cast wheels gaining back it’s weight advantage with the added chroming. The look though, to me, looks much more aggressive, especially with the slightly darker 01 rims versus the 02+ Speedline rims. Chrome rims on a Corvette just doesn’t suit it at all to me, especially a C5 Z06.

First in person look at the new ZR1 at a dealership in Decatur, Alabama.
A few photos from this set
On our way back from Decatur, Alabama yesterday evening, we came across a Chevrolet dealership that had numerous Corvettes. Among them, this beauty, a Velocity Yellow Z06 and a red one just like it sitting beside it. It’s a 2009 model, and is the first one I’ve seen in person with the new wheel style. In my opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful cars out today. Our local dealership hardly ever has a Corvette, much less a Z06. I’d love to test drive one just for the fun of it; it’d be a blast!
How cool is this! I saw one at someone’s house today and thought it was awesome.
My buddy sent me this link the other night.
Dang this is sad…poor Z06
