Sleepy Arms

by Shane Holden – May 12, 2009

I think it’s a pretty good sign that you need a new matress or a different sleeping arrangement/position when you get better rest and sleep better altogether on a hotel bed.  We usually stay at Choice Hotels when we’re out of town because they usually have really nice rooms and have a hot breakfast in the mornings, and their beds feel so nice to sleep on.  My only gripe really is the pillows, and I think it’s just because I am so used to mine at home.  I’ve always slept on my stomach with my arms stretched out of the headboard, and for the last few months I’ve had trouble falling asleep because my arms seem to go asleep before I can get knocked out.  That ends up keeping me awake because it drives me crazy for something to go to sleep on me – I hate that tingling feeling.  Perhaps as much as I hate to sleep on my back, I should give that a try, or maybe try to be more physically active to help me go to sleep easier.

I surely wondered what this was about with a title like that!:) Considering how much time we spend trying to fall asleep in our beds, you’d think there would be a science to it by now. You sleep in kind of, um, an unusual way, Shane, ;) and I don’t know how to make your arms go to sleep if they are up on the headboard?!?

Haha  No kidding, so much time is wasted trying to fall asleep. I guess I do sleep in an unusual way. I have an iron bed that has sort of an open headboard so I can stretch out, but I don’t see why they go to sleep. It sure is annoying though

Got something to say?! Go for it!
