Partisan Lines

by Shane Holden – June 20, 2012

Today I watched some of the hearing on holding a vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. It’s obvious to me, that he should be held in contempt, regardless of the party you are in. Being in the same party as him shouldn’t make him innocent, nor should being in the opposite party of him cause him to be guilty. Because at the end of the day facts are facts, and the truth is the truth. There’s no such thing as “evolving truth.”

I wish we didn’t have parties. I wish we weren’t Democrats or Republicans, but just Americans. Americans that wanted to see honesty in government, principles upheld, and justice and liberty for all. Instead we have a system of government that caters to those that are willing to make shady deals, steal freedoms from the American people, and turn a blind eye to the misfortunes that they create. All of this partly because of the apathetic constituancy, and largely because of party loyalty.
