Mother’s Day Card

by Shane Holden – May 9, 2010

Here’s the card that my mom found sitting in front of the coffee maker this morning.  When it comes to picking out a card for someone, I tend to like the ones that are more sentimental and meaningful, rather than the funny ones.  Especially for this type of event, and especially this year.

The card reads:

Mom, no gift could ever mean as much as all the things you’ve done unselfishly for me through the years.  You’ve given me self-confidence, strong values, and love–important things that will stay with me for a lifetime.  I can never repay you or tell you how much you mean to me, but Mother’s Day seems like the perfect time to remind you that I love you.

I thought it would be incredibly hard to write something that could be as good as what came in the card, but I think we did a good job.

Chase and I added:

Mom,

We try to thank you each day for the daily things that you do, but this day is to thank you for even more.  Thank you for being such a fighter during the first few months of this year.  Every Mother’s Day we are thankful to have you here, and especially this year.  You have no idea how thankful we are to have you here reading this card right now.

Love you always,
Twins

She loved it.
