McDonald’s Chicken Sandwich

Along w/ the estimated 8 million other people that were expected to give it a shot, I was lured to McDonald’s yesterday to give their chicken sandwich a try for lunch.  Yesterday was a promotional day that gave anyone ordering a medium or large drink a free chicken sandwich.  My lunch break is at 1PM, so places are typically a little crowded, but they were packed w/ people yesterday.  I guess the current situation w/ the economy, gas prices, and everything, people just couldn’t turn down the offer for an almost free lunch.

The sandwich was actually pretty good.  The chicken was very moist and their buns were very soft.  I will most likely buy it again at some point.  Just by estimating, they gave away about $20M worth of these things, including the breakfast biscuits, which I am sure was a decision that in the end will increase theie number of sales.

  1. The breakfast one tasted almost like it had pickle juice on it, but it was not bad.

  2. Mark - I don’t doubt that at all. They were very generous w/ the pickles on the sandwiches :???: lol

  3. I ate only once at McDonald’s… somehow they had only one kind of hamburger (it is a small McDonald:-)). And it looked disgusting - full of fat. It was with bacon and some mixed meat… So I tried some salad with chicken and it was not so bad. It was not mixed chicken meat, but real piece of chicken and this is the way it should be. So if the chicken in the chicken sandwich was a whole piece of meat, it should be good and even healthy. You know, McDonald had not the best name in healthy food :-)

  4. Susan - Thanks for stopping by! Yep, McDonald’s I think will be forever linked to those huge greasy hamburgers. I think they’re adding real chicken items to the menu to hopefully pick up the people that try to eat more healthy as new customers.
