McCaysville House Build 06.01.08

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I took off this past week to work with my dad on a house they are building.  We got started off a little slow between waiting on materials to come in and the rain that decided to grace us with it’s presence, but all in all, we got a ton of work done.  For this build we picked up a pneumatic nailer, and man oh man does that speed things up.  My mom and dad are very happy with all that we have gotten done so far.  My only regret is that Monday is back to the grinder (work), so other than weekends, I’m going to miss out on whatever he does during the week.

My arms, shoulders, neck, and even my scalp are burnt big time.  Showers don’t feel too good at the moment.  I’m surprised my face isn’t burnt any worse than it is, but I guess since most of the work was done on the floor I didn’t get much sun on it.

In one of the pics you can see an older guy, that is apparently my great-uncle, whom I never knew I had.  I’m sure if I would have just thought about it I would have figured it out, but I know who he is now and met him for the first time the other day.  He came by nearly every day to give a hand.  I think he mostly came just for the company we were and to get out of the house and do something different.  Nice guy though and can definitely tell some stories.
