Eye Doctor Visit

by Shane Holden – September 3, 2008

I am horrible at putting off a few things that should be taken very serious and never put aside.  It’s so easy to say you’ll do it next week or next month, and before you know it a whole year has slipped by.  Yep, I managed to let an entire year pass since I was supposed to get my yearly eye exam, making it 2 years since I’ve been :???: .  Sadly though, I think it was a combination of being out of fresh new contacts, and waking up here and there thinking “I soo need to make an appointment” that finally made me carry through with it.

Even though I am usually very reluctant when it comes time for the dilation, after it was explained why it’s important for me to go through with it, I will probably not try to take a pass card on future exams.  Apparently the shape of my eyes are that which are more prone to develop tears in the very backside of your eye.  So it’s important to keep check so that if anything were to begin developing, it could be taken care of before becoming serious.

The reason I honestly hate going the most is the possibility of my prescription changing.  I don’t know why, but it’s just kind of depressing knowing that your eyes have got worse when you’re at the age that they should have leveled off by now.  Thankfully, my current prescription still gives me 20/20, and I couldn’t be any more happier with that!

So I left with a clean bill of health and those goofy plastic/cardboard glasses to wear the rest of the day!

I’m glad you posted this! So, I’m not the only one? This is timely as I’m on my last pair of contacts, too! They’ve cut me off, and I cannot order more until I endure the dreaded exam. :)
Glad it worked out well for you. I know my prescription wants changing. I’m looking at the possibility of tri-focal contacts now, can you believe it? Distance, Computer, and Reading all require different things, ugh. Well, thanks for the reminder and the commeraderie!

Muse – No no, you are definitely not the only one ;) Glad to know I’m not alone as well. I had no idea that they did a tri-focal contact lens now. I hope when you go everything works out well and maybe your prescription won’t need to change on you. Best of luck Muse! :)

Got something to say?! Go for it!
