Week In Elgin

We came up to Elgin, Illinois this past Sunday for some training this week and next. Google says it was 674 miles, taking about 11hrs 14min. Probably the most exciting thing we saw on the way up here was the Bullrun Aston Martin while driving through Chicago. We’ve been staying in Elgin each night while having the daily training at Hoffman Estates.

On the way through Chicago, we saw this Aston Martin from Bullrun. I’ve not seen the latest season, so I’m not sure if maybe it’s a future season’s car, or current, or even past. But it was very awesome to see in person and shoot while riding down the interstate.

Wind Farm In Indiana

Being from Georgia where you never see the huge windmills, it’s always a spectacular sight to see when traveling to part of the country where they are abundant.

Quick Trip To Sedalia

We left this morning on a 661 mile trip to Sedalia, Missouri to meet up with Mark for some training. The trip couldn’t have gone any better, and since we didn’t hit any traffic, we were able to shave some time off of the estimated 11hrs 17min that Google gives. Sedalia had their 4th of July fireworks show today instead of yesterday, which was nice since we ended up missing Dalton’s firework show that was on Saturday.

Father’s Day Ride 2010

We left around 10:30AM with no real trip planned out. My brother really wanted to ride where we’ve never ridden before, and suggested out towards Alabama. We ended up taking 136 by Cloudland Canyon and just continued from there and ended up going through Fort Payne. We had a nice lunch at Shane’s Rib Shack in Rome before heading home. I ran off and left my little camera at work on Friday since I’ve been using it there, so unfortunately have no pictures from this ride. It was a great trip though that lasted over 6 hours and was about 210 miles long.

Downtown Baltimore

The trip was great, both going and coming back home, and since the weather was nice we took a night walk around the city to see what all it was like. Baltimore looked so different this time than it did the times before—so much nicer without any dirty snow covering everything.

Note: All of the night shots were taking while just propping up on something nearby, as I unfortunately forgot my tripod at home.

Heading To Fairmont

Chase and I are leaving in the morning to go up to Fairmont, Minnesota for a few days. We have a couple of meetings to attend to and will also get the opportunity to meet our long time friend, Mark and his wonderful family. I’m excited about the entire trip.

We’ll be leaving about 4:30-5:00AM and according to Google, the trip will be about 1,028 miles and take 17 hours 27 minutes. We’ll make the trip back home on Friday sometime.
