A Genuine Thank You 12.21.07

I don’t know what it is about some people, but some don’t appreciate a thing.  For some people, a genuine ‘thank you’ is all that is needed to let them know that you appreciate what they have done.

My dad was telling us recently that he picked up a couple of biscuits from Wendy’s for a couple of people that work for him while he was out running an errand one day.  Keep in mind that he did this own w/o either of them asking if he’d pick them up one while he was out.  He handed them the bag when he got back and they each reached in and picked out the one that they liked best, and immediately opened the wrapper and ate them.  He said that they neither one said thank you, kiss my butt, or anything.  Almost like he was supposed to get them one.

I don’t know what it is about that, but it bugs me.  I just can’t understand how someone could be so unappreciative like that and not even say thanks.

I’m the kind of guy that will always say ‘thank you’ if someone does something for me.  Like for dinner, my mom always fixes it, and for as long as I remember, when I am done eating I always say “thank you mom for….” or something of the like.  You catch the door for me, help me out, whatever it is, you can always expect a ‘thank you’ to come from me.  And likewise, when I do something for someone, I do like to hear a genuine ‘thank you’ to let me know that whatever time I spent, money I spent, or whatever the case may be, was truely appreciated.
