I will always have
an undying love for you
that will never end
This very brief encounter with an elderly man at Texas Roadhouse was just what was needed at the time. The funny part is when Chase got back to the table, I was like the funniest thing just happened, and he was like no way, I’ve got something too.
The elderly man’s brief conversation with Chase:
The elderly man as he was walking by our table, told his wife he needed to stop for just a second, to tell me:
this one single thought
makes the day’s hardships worth it:
coming home to you
Undoubtedly one of my favorite parts about summer is the evening tunes of the crickets. This little guy made it into our house for a few nights before he disappeared. He either died from starvation or thirst, made it out somehow, or most likely became a victim to one of the dogs. Needless to say, when the lights went out, he went to singing his tune each night.

I will have your face
engraved in my mind and thoughts

It’s easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you’d be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often then not, it’s lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul.

I posted this quote up on Facebook yesterday as my status, and got quite a few ‘likes’ and comments on it.
It expresses the thoughts that I often think of when I see people that I don’t know—what their road in life has been like and what their life’s story is, or how they made it to where they are now—whether that’s complete and total happiness and loving life, or being at rock bottom and hating life. If only we’d take these hidden stories into account before being so quick to decide on what someone must be like, or how someone is, and realize that life is hard, and everyone’s comes with sacrifices, losses, and heartache that we often never see, we would better our society, not to mention humanity.

and the touch of your soft skin
