HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. — The surging price of gasoline has come to this: a “fuel surcharge” on your next speeding ticket.
Drivers caught speeding in this north Atlanta suburb soon will have to pay an extra $12 — to cover $4-a-gallon gas costs for the police officers who stop them.
I don’t like the sound of this, and I expect to see other cities adopt the same idea. Just because you get busted for speeding you should have to pay for the cops to be able to patrol? Maybe I am just misled, but I thought that was what taxes covered
It wouldn’t be that bad if I didn’t know 100% without a doubt that many of the officers, at least around here, use their sheriff/police cars for their own personal business.

On Father’s Day, my brothers and I all get together with our dad and take a long motorcycle ride together to spend the day w/ him. We got a late start today, left about 1:30PM, but had a very enjoyable trip. The weather could not have been any more perfect. We rode about 250 miles up through Tennessee, over into North Carolina and up into the Nantahala National Forest. The Nantahala is a beautiful place. The trees are so tall and the mountains so large that it almost makes you feel very insignificant to the world. I can only imagine how nice it looks during the winter after a good snow.
Here’s a few pics of what we did today. The temp being in the 90s was a killer, but having plenty to drink sure helped out. We rode up through the mountains to get there on our bikes, and even with the wind from riding, it was about too hot to enjoy the ride. I was hoping we could have left early while it was cooler, but my brother couldn’t pick up his bike from the shop til 9:30, and that ended up being 10:30 before he made it there to get it. and I’ll bet my bike is covered as well, lol.
Because it´s only when you’re tested that you truly discover who you are. And it’s only when you’re tested that you discover who you can be. The person that you want to be does exist, somewhere in the other side of hard work and faith, and belief and beyond the heartache and fear of what life has.
