Petland

April 19th, 2008

My brother and SIL came up today and told us that they wanted to get some kind of little pet for their apartment.  It was either a hamster, gerbil, or guinea pig.  I had no idea that Dalton even had a pet store now.  The only pet store that I knew we had was H2O Pets, and they’ve been closed for years now.  But we have a Petland here in town now :) Read the rest of this entry »

Rained Out

April 18th, 2008

We had planned to go to Rod Run up in Pigeon Forge, TN this weekend, but 70% chance rain on Saturday has pretty much killed the plans.  We’ve went the past 7 years and lucked out w/o it raining at all.  But my guess is that when it gets rainy, everyone will pack up and leave because it actually starts on Thursday and lasts through Saturday.  One of my buddies is betting that it won’t be dead, but my thoughts are you can’t really cruise the strip w/ it raining, and people aren’t going to be out walking around looking at cars w/ it raining.

Oh well, maybe we’ll make it to the one in the Fall or the next Spring one in ‘09.

Good Thing For Deadlines

April 12th, 2008

Because if there weren’t any, there are some things that would never get done.  Taxes for sure.  Ugh, the thought of needing to do them.  Time is ticking and I need to get on the ball.  I always dread doing them because of all the sorting papers, finding papers, etc.  Hopefully I’ll have the motivation in the morning to get everything together and run them by Jackson-Hewitt.  Every year this sort of thing happens.  I always end up not getting them done until almost the last moment possible.  I think I hate them that much :???:

Long Work Day Today

April 11th, 2008

After we get off work at 5pm, me and Chase are heading down to Temple, GA, about 1.5 hrs away, to get started on a job for our oldest brother.  We’ve got these security installs down pretty good.  It used to take 10-12 hours for us to completely do the wire runs and mount all of the devices, but after doing them for quite some time over the last couple of years, we can do them in 8-9 hours.  Practice helps lead to efficiency, and in our case that is true :D We are looking at being back home at probably 3-4am on Saturday, which my parents aren’t in favor at all of us being out that late working and driving, but when duty calls you gotta do what you gotta do ;)

Work Parking

April 3rd, 2008

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve always viewed parking and parking spots as a first come first serve type deal, excluding Handicap parking of course.  We have an upper lot and lower lot here at work, which is seriously no more than 100ft max difference between parking in the lower as opposed to the upper.

We come in this morning and begin to park in our usual spot that we always manage to get, just to get pointed down to the lower lot.  Apparently they are having a meeting downstairs and would rather have the guests get the good spots; good meaning way less chance of someone dooring your car. Ever notice that the people who say that’s the way the ball bounces are usually the ones who dropped it? — Jeff Rovin
