Today is a very slow day here at work, so I’m rather bored. And as my birthday rapidly approaches, Continue Reading..
, I often wonder where the time has gone. So in doing that, I figured I would break out the ole calculator and just get an idea of things. Some of the numbers are eye opening of how quickly 10 minutes here, and 15 minutes there quickly add up.
The Grammy Awards will be in full voice next month, with the striking writers guild agreeing Monday to allow its members to work on the show.
Oh come on now. If you are going to do a strike, stop giving way to these awards shows (they do nothing at all for me) and either do a complete strike or stop striking completely. There’s no telling what the writers get paid, and the worst part about their little strike is that they are effecting all of the other workers that are needed to make a show. I saw one lady on the news that said that she doesn’t have the requirements that it would take to get another job, and until their strike is over, she would not be making anything and would be getting behind on payments. Unions like this is the exact reason why companies like GM are going down. They want more and more, and demand more and more, making it impossible for the companies they work for to compete.
That’s right, TGIF! Overall this week hasn’t been too bad I guess for myself. I can’t say the same for those on Wall Street, and because of that, those that are close to retirement. It’s been one rough week for those people from what I’ve been watching on the stock market charts. And an even worse week for that guy in France that lost his bank $7B. So yeah, compared to those, my week wasn’t too bad.

I’ve been pretty stressed out lately with work. See, I’m working on this project that I was allocated ~450hrs to complete, and it’s something that no one here has done before the way it’s being done. So saying that you should be complete in X amount of hours really isn’t the right way to approach it. But I understand for billing and financial record keeping and such that it had to be done this way. And I really don’t think that I could get any more hours to finish it, but I guess there is a very slim chance that there could be.

A man was leaving a convenience store with his morning coffee when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery.
A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary man walking a dog on a leash.

This is soo me today. I’m sitting here at work now and very much don’t want to be here, and in the background I can hear other ppl laughing and cutting up w/ each other like they have waited all weekend for this day to come. I mean, come on it’s Monday! that means the weekend is over, how can you be excited to be back at work?!
The printer in Office Space = this project I am on now
It’s getting the best of me lately and am so ready for it to be over with.
My buddy sent me this link the other night.

Has everyone noticed how unbelievably popular text messaging is now?
Now I understand how useful it can be at times, but I have friends that do nothing but text message now. I’ve got one friend that went with us to Florida, and I swear he was on his phone text messaging the entire trip. I don’t even think he knew we were in Florida Continue Reading..
Seriously, every one of my friends would rather send a text message than call now. And I’m not just talking one or two texts to say something, but 10+ texts to say something that could be said in a 1 minute phone conversation.
I know it’s going to be short lived, but there’s actually snow coming down
Hoping that the temp drops pretty quick and we at least have a delayed opening at work tmw
Probably won’t happen, but worth hoping for anyways, lol.
As the new year came, my work offered me a chance to participate in their 403b plan. I saw this as a chance to make an instant 50% return on the first 6%, 50¢ on each $1 invested, that I chose to have withdrawn from my check and placed in it, so I naturally signed up for it. I really don’t know how long I will be there, but that really doesn’t matter, as I just wanted to take the free money since it was offered.
I’ve got a co-worker that is nice enough to bring me Money Magazine each month, and today suggested that I look into opening an IRA while I’m as young as I am. I’ve read about this some in the recent past, and am going to do alot more digging and number crunching before the month of April comes along.
40+ years is a long time, and a ton of things can change in that amount of time, but doing things early won’t hurt at all.
You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.
