I’ve finally got around to posting up some progress pictures from my buddy’s basement drywall project. We’re actually quite a bit further than these show since we worked about 6 more hours on Saturday on it.
We moved the vent from the laundry room to the main larger room since it would be more effective there, and we also have 2 of the 4 windows trimmed out with the sheetrock. J-Bead is being used on the inside edge that is against the window so that once some white caulk is applied it will provid a very clean finished look.

I’m not one of those people that are paranoid about every little thing that happens. But I am one that tries to look ahead at what the outcome could be and/or what something can lead to. This is one that I’ve read about a little while back, and find it a little wierd how you never hear a thing about it. Especially w/ the upcoming elections and all of that jazz, you not once hear any of the candidates on either side state their stance on this.
First, the article..

Peeps has got to be one of the best snacks there is that come out at the holidays. I’ve actually got a few of them that I brought to work to snack on today. Whoever came up w/ them did an awesome job because they’re not too sweet, they’re nice and fluffy, they’re just great! IMO of course
1 When you take a long time, you’re slow.
When your boss takes a long time, he’s thorough
2 When you don’t do it, you’re lazy.
When your boss doesn’t do it, he’s too busy.
3 When you make a mistake, you’re an idiot.
When your boss makes a mistake, he’s only human.
4 When doing something without being told, you’re overstepping your authority.
When your boss does the same thing, that’s initiative.
5 When you take a stand, you’re being pig-headed.
When your boss does it, he’s being firm.
Today at lunch I’m taking my truck in to get the 30k mile transmission service. On the phone they tried to sell me just a fluid change, and claimed that they had a detergent that would clean the transmission filter. That is not for me. I told them that I wanted a trans-vac done, which changes every bit of fluid, including that that’s in the torque converter, and I wanted a new filter installed as well. I’ve done this before myself, and would definitely do it this time if I had the equipment, because really it’s a gamble whether you’ll get what you pay for. It’s so easy for them to claim they’ll do something and just skip right over it. Like for the filter, I’ll never know if it was changed if I don’t either see them do it or take a look at it sometime down the road w/ my own eyes.

About a week ago we were watching monster trucks on TV, and realized that going to Monster Jam was something we had to do at least once in our lives. After that, my oldest brother and my sister in law got online and started checking out prices and schedules for the next showing in Atlanta.
Christmas actually went better than I thought it would. That’s not to say that there wasn’t any awkwardness or any putting on the spot, but I’ll just say that there was less of that than I had originally expected.

Here’s a show that comes on TLC that has caught my interest quite a bit over the past couple of months. For anyone that’s not seen it, it’s a show that shows a person’s purchase, fix-up, and sale, most commonly known as a flip, of a house. The more I watch it, and the more I do real renovations to a house, the more I actually would like to give this a shot.
Yesterday went down as planned. We began installing drywall in my friend’s basement around 7AM and worked all the way til 3AM today. So right about 20 hrs total yesterday working with a couple of few minute breaks to grab a quick sandwich.
